5 Things That Will Make Me An Excellent Educator
One thing that I have learned so far that will make me an excellent educator is the quality questioning process. I know that I will use that information through the rest of my college experience and will then carry it with me into my own classroom. Another skill I have learned that will add to making a a great educator one day is Conscious Discipline. I wish that Conscious Discipline would have been implemented in schools while I was in elementary. I think it is so important for children to be aware of and in control of their feelings and emotions. Knowing the importance of purposeful play in the classroom will be a key factor in ensuring that I excel as an educator in the early childhood field. I now know that children learn best through play, but it is important for there to be a reason and a goal for their play. Knowing the importance of "relationships, relationships, relationships" will also be one of the key factors in making me an excellent educator. We will never be able to truly reach our students if we don't build trust and a relationship with them. Finally, understanding the correct way to use technology in the classroom will make me an excellent educator. I have learned that technology in a lesson should enhance student learning, and not just be a digital worksheet.
